Big Picture Learning's mission is putting students directly at the center of their learning. A student's advisory class provides a time where the advisor facilitates group activities, provides learning opportunities and builds a sense of community and the goal is for students to spend time in the community under the tutelage of mentors.

What is ADVISORY?

 

Parent and Staff Definition

 

Advisory is a place and time in school when and where students can grow, make connections, explore career interests, and receive advice from both peers and advisors. The purpose is to give students a sense of belonging while providing them with mentorship. We hope that this space will help students feel connected to each other and their future selves while exploring their path or purpose. 

 

Student Definition 

 

Advisory is the heart of our school. Advisory is a place to build community, character, connection, and culture using communication and cooperation.
